Scroll through tables of Hiragana and Katakana characters. Tap a character tile to hear a native pronunciation. Switch between either character set using the buttons at the top of the page.

A Result Bar indicating the number of times the Quiz was answered correctly may be shown under each character tile. All Result Bars will update at the completion of every Quiz Round.

Enable Pick Mode to focus the Quiz on a subset of characters from the Kana Table. Single select by tapping on any character tile, or select a row of characters by tapping the buttons along the left edge.

Selected characters will be applied in the Quiz when Pick Mode is enabled. This can be helpful if you want to focus the Quiz on certain characters.

Tap the Quiz button to begin the Quiz round.

To switch between the different fonts styles, use the back/forward buttons near the upper-right corner of the screen.

A variety of fonts are available, from standard Typeset to different handwriting styles.

A Quiz Round consists of five random characters in the active character set (either Hiragana or Katakana), either from the Pick Mode selection if Pick Mode is enabled, or from the whole character set.

Any characters that were answered incorrectly in previous Quiz Rounds will have a higher probability of being randomly selected for the Next Quiz Round.

Characters that were answered correctly in previous Quiz Rounds will have a lower probability of being selected for the Next Quiz Round.

The Shuffle button will display a different set of characters.

The Start button will begin the Quiz Round with the five characters displayed.

Progress Bar along the top shows your progress in the current Quiz Round.

Tap the correct choice to match the Quiz character displayed, and to progress through the Quiz.

Available choices are randomly selected, but look carefully because similar looking characters have a higher probability of being shown.

Auditory listening drills may be included near the end of each Quiz Round. Turn this off via the 'Skip Audio Query' button. This setting can be turned back on from the Settings page.

After reviewing all the Quiz characters, the Quiz Round is complete and the percentage of correct responses will be displayed.

The Next Quiz Round characters will be randomly selected for the next quiz.
